We have previously sold dedicated products for campfires that protect nature, such as fire sheets and ash carry bags, as well as items for enjoying campfires like blow tubes and fire starters. After more than a year of planning, the fire pit "NT Fire Stand," which does not harm nature, has finally been completed.

The "NT Fire Stand" is designed with the primary consideration of not harming nature, featuring a fire bed for campfires and a "heat shield and ash catcher" that cuts off radiant heat from the fire.

Additionally, inspired by the protective clothing used by firefighters, a heat-reflective aluminum thermal sheet is included. This makes the fire pit one that hardly affects the ground with heat. (The area above the thermal sheet feels cooler than the surrounding ground.)

Furthermore, the fire pit that campers have been seeking has been completed, pursuing "compactness," "ease of assembly," "size," and "durability" without compromise.

Thoughts on the campfire stand "NT Fire Stand"

◆ About Leave No Trace

The campfire stand you purchased, "NT Fire Stand," was named with the meaning of "leaving no trace of the campfire."

Are you familiar with the term Leave No Trace (commonly known as LNT)? Literally translated, it means "leave no footprints," but it refers to an environmental ethics program devised in the United States based on seven principles that anyone can easily learn techniques for interacting with nature while enjoying the outdoors and protecting it.

【About LNT Japan】https://lntj.jp/

LNT activities have been spreading in Japan in recent years, and LNT Japan was established in 2021. In 2023, ZEN Camps also began activities as a corporate partner, and this time the "NT Fire Stand" has been recognized as a campfire stand that indeed protects nature.

In recent years, as outdoor activities such as camping have become more popular, it is now required to act in ways that do not cause environmental destruction, and we believe that conveying these seven principles is our mission.

As we are in a position that intrudes upon nature, it is of course not permissible to disturb it, and it is good manners to minimize the impact of campfires on nature when leaving.

As for what we can do, we want to promote "Principle 5: Minimal impact of campfires" within the LNT program and work towards making the activities of LNT Japan more widely recognized.

◆ Thoughts on Development

We have received many reports from customers who have used the ZEN Camps campfire sheet stating, "The campfire sheet is fine, but the grass underneath has burned."

I have repeatedly communicated that the campfire sheet is designed to prevent the spread of fire due to flying embers, but it does not completely block the heat transmitted to the ground, and I still receive sad reports of scorched grass. (The number of cases has decreased with the attempt to enclose the flyer below with the campfire sheet.)

While low-height campfire stands that allow you to have a campfire while sitting in a low chair are becoming mainstream, if individuals do not take measures for heat shielding or insulation, a considerable amount of heat will be transmitted to the ground, inevitably killing the plants and microorganisms present. From this situation, we wanted to create a campfire stand that does not damage the ground even if it is low in height, and thus we started the development of this campfire stand.

In addition to the fire pit for the campfire, we have installed a "heat shield and ash catcher" that cuts off radiant heat from the fire, and we also include a heat-reflective heat shield, making it a campfire stand that has almost no thermal impact on the ground.

Another aspect I wanted to focus on was not wanting to compromise on "compactness," "size," and "durability."

■ Compact and easy to assemble
The frame is foldable and has been developed through numerous experiments and failures.
Since you only need to spread the frame folded to A4 size to the left and right, there is no need for any troublesome assembly, and the stability is excellent due to the legs being connected.

When folded, it becomes thin to about 2 cm in thickness, and the weight can be reduced to about 1.2 kg including other parts.

The included storage bag is spacious, making it easy to take in and out.

ShadeHeat sheets and fire pit sheets (95×60 cm), fire starters, and other fire-related goods can be consolidated into one.

■ A size that allows you to enjoy both campfires and cooking

When stored, it is compact, but the length of the firebed is about 51 cm, so it will hardly protrude if using firewood sold at campsites.

Moreover, you can utilize the space by cooking on the right side and using the left side as a warming area. The included pot supports (2 pieces) can be set at two height levels, allowing for finer adjustments between high and low heat.

Since the frame is stable and sturdy, it can be used with Dutch ovens and skillets, making it suitable not only for solo use but also for duo or group use.

■ Sturdiness and fixing power of the three-axis
The frame supporting the firebed is not only on both sides but also in the middle, significantly increasing its sturdiness, and it will not collapse even if pushed with considerable force. Additionally, the firebed is securely fixed in six places, allowing it to be handled without collapsing when lifted or shaken.

We hope that you will use it with care and affection for a long time, as it is durable.
