From ice packs to a cold-retention system.
A cooler’s cold-retention performance is not determined solely by the temperature of its ice packs.
Where should the ice packs be placed?
How should items be cooled?
How efficiently can cold air be transferred?
ZEN Camps’ ice packs were designed not merely to cool items, but to improve cooling efficiency throughout soft coolers and cooler boxes.
A cold-retention system that uses cold air efficiently to cool both drinks and food.
The “Six-Can Contact 3D Cooling System” that cools by sandwiching
※Patent design application pending
Standard ice packs cannot adequately cool areas of cans or food other than the parts they touch.
However, ZEN Camps’ ice packs have a recessed shape, so cans can rest securely on them and another ice pack can also be placed on top.
Sandwiching cans and food from above and below allows cold air to transfer efficiently, enhancing cooling performance.
Even when using the large size on its own, cans can be kept organized without rolling around inside a cooler or soft cooler. (It can also be placed over them from above.)
A new cold-retention system that cools items faster and more efficiently.
Reduce dead space in the cooler
Large ice packs feature a specially designed recessed shape. They can hold small ice packs, keeping them compact during transport.
The small ice packs can also be placed in gaps inside the cooler.
By sandwiching cans from above and below and placing ice packs in the gaps along the sides, cans are cooled from all directions. This simultaneously reduces temperature variations and dead space inside the cooler, efficiently cooling everything.
The small type fits easily in ZEN Camps’ “Roll Top Cooler” and “Lunch Bag,” making it useful for everyday applications such as picnics and carrying packed lunches.

Testing and specifications
Compact storage
Store a small ice pack in the recess of a large ice pack. Place another large ice pack on top for compact transport.
Designed to balance storage capacity and cooling performance, it also reduces the amount of freezer space needed for cooling.
Freezing in a freezer
Freezing the ice packs requires a freezer temperature of -20°C or below and a freezing time of 18–24 hours or longer. (Depending on the freezer conditions, it may take even longer.)
For this reason, set the freezer temperature to -20°C or below before use.
※In summer, a freezer’s cooling capacity decreases and its temperature tends to rise, so we recommend setting it to as low a temperature as possible.
